A special thank you to our event sponsors and the 950 cyclists who participated in the 2011 Ride For Life Challenge on Sunday 6th November. As a group we donated $10,000 to Variety Queensland, $10,000 to Guide Dogs Queensland & $2,500 to NexGen Foundation.
Testimonials A big thanks to anyone who had a hand in organizing the fantastic event last weekend. I can only imagine the work involved in putting such a massive event together and from a participants view point it ran seamlessly. The opportunity to ride and talk with professional standard riders was a real buzz, their willingness to have a chat with us hacks they cruised along at a frantic pace was astounding. Thanks to the police for the escort, they seemed to be having as much fun as those pedaling their bikes and again their interaction with the participants was faultless. Everyone involved from the people on the sign in desk to those making coffee and serving breakfast deserve a big thanks, I will certainly do this event again and have been telling anyone who will listen what I great day I had. The event was so professional in all aspects it is hard to believe it is the first time it has been run.As a participant in the BMW ride for life on Sunday morning I would like to congratulate the Organisers, Police and Volunteers who worked to put this event together and achieve in an inaugural event a ride that was exceptional and has set the bench mark for many other events and organisations to look up to. It was a pleasure to ride with the Virgin Blue team riders in a great event and I will definitely line up for next year. I would like to thank you guys for the really perfect organised event. We were in total 5 people and we really all enjoyed the ride. It was extremely well organised and planned. Especially the police did an excellent job !!! Well done. My wife and I am from Austria and we are living here in Australia for 1 ½ years. As we are moving back to Europe in April we didn't plan to participate next year but as the event was such a perfect day for us we are thinking to plan our next holiday around the BMW ride that we coming again to AUS and even can participate next year. Well done guys – We really appreciated your effort you put into this event. WOW – we won't forget this day. CONGRATULATIONS. I was very impressed with the overall ride organisation. The route presented just the right amount of challenge, the Police were absolutely awesome - looking after the rider's safety at all times, and the support riders and vehicle drivers went the extra mile (sometimes literally) in being extremely helpful and encouraging. The 2010 Ride for Life Challenge would have to be one of the best inaugural bike rides I have ever participated in. It is definitely on the fast track for being one of the premier cycling events in Queensland.
